Umi is a rash and eccentric junior high schooler who is fascinated with life after death. On her 13th birthday, she and her friends follow an ancient legend and disturb a tomb of slumbering spirits. When these dormant spirits are freed, the girls are cursed for unleashing chaos on their otherwise uninteresting town. Now, every night at midnight, the girls “drop dead” and awake in the spirit realm where they must set off to begin a new, mysterious adventure. Some mischievous, some dangerous, others benign, these runaway spirits must be collected by the end of their 13th year or the girls will be banished from the physical realm forever!
